Scientific view of Mi’raj

In accordance with the command of Allah Almighty, Jibreel (Peace be upon him) the guide tested the visitor, Prophet Muhammad (Peace and Blessing of Allah be upon him), to know his maturity after performing the prayer in Baithul Muqaddas. Jibreel (A) brought two cups of milk and toddy. Prophet (PBH) was very thirsty because of his long nocturnal journey with Buraque who traveled through the earth and atmosphere like a launched missile. The journey may cause to diminish the watery of his body. The test is that which will he select the cups. He selected the cup of milk self persuasively. Soon the guide commented: “You selected the Islamic maturity”. It is true that paralyzing mind is not suitable to the Islamic maturity. The torment of mind and body can be seen only in immature theology.
Above all, the travelers have an important lesson in this selection. We should never neglect the maturity, even if we often get difficult to keep religion routine amidst our journey. We should be pious in planes, lodges, conference halls, feasts, and reception hall. While we might be treaded by toddy, pork and meat slaughtered by non-Muslims, we should never touch it. We should remember such feast treated by airhostess and so on leads us to the hell. If we are subjected to this treatment in any moment we will become immature. We should never be so. It is the meaning of Jibreel’s comment, ‘You selected the maturity’.
Jibreel (A) begins the journey with Prophet (PBH) who won the test. The stair spare craft was established in the launching pad, the famous rock of Baithul Muqaddas. It works interconnecting seven heavens (sacred house) and ten spheres like Sidrathul Munthaha, Kursiy and Arsh(Throne).
Today it is not difficult to reach the topmost floor of Masjidul Haram. We need only a foot step from ground floor to the staircase. Those who want first floor can get down there. Those who want second floor need long step to staircase. A part of the stair space craft was fastened between the Baithul Muqaddas (Sacred house) and first heaven. The stair which was used for the journey of Prophet Muhammad (PBH), was unimaginable in that century but now a days usable in almost all cities. The Islamic books say about it: “When they ready to rice, the stair descended from first heaven. They got in the stair and the stair ascended up with them (Thafseer Al-Ssavi). What an experience!! Soon after they stood on the stair step, it started to ascend itself, even in that seventh century.
Here is the journey started, two astronauts. One is the permanent traveler created by light. Second is not so. He has blood and flesh and needs water and oxygen for existence. Human being can bear only a certain extent of heat.
Men and cattle die of sunburn. If we rush fast, the layer of our ears may get pained and broken. While traveling through the Super space, the travelers will face the flow of comets, maces and so on. Allah reminds this unfavorable weather through His words: “O assembly of jinn and men! If you have power to pass beyond the zones of the heavens and the earth, then pass beyond (them)! But you will never be able to pass them, except with authority (from Allah). There will be sent against you both, smokeless flames of fire and (molten) brass and you will not be able to defend yourselves. (Surat: Al-Rahman; 55:33-35). If they raise twenty kilometers more, they will reach in Ozone layer. There is no breathing air there.
The Almighty Says: And whomsoever Allah wills to guide, He opens his breast to Islam; and whom so ever He will to send astray. He makes his breast closed and constricted, as if he is climbing up to the sky (Surat Al –An’am 125).
It is the proclamation of Quran, before the man realizing the air and boundaries of air sphere. This verse convinces that there will be impediments of breathing while ascending to the Super space. But the Prophet (PBH) was protected from such problems by the grace of Almighty.
The Prophet (PBH) had taken nothing but the dress used while sleeping in home. Though he had not enough equipment, the flow of comets, maces, hails, galaxies, ice, scintilla and change of weather not affected him at all. Curiously enough, the modern men spent thousands of Dollars for launching the crafts such like the Apollo, Sputnik and Skylab.

Why wouldn’t be mentioned?

Why did not Allah mention in the chapter Isra about Mi’raj which happened immediately after Isra (nocturnal journey)? Why did Allah mention about Isra and Mi’raj in different chapters, ‘Isra’ and ‘Najm’ respectively? Answer to all is as follows: It is only the journey between holy Makkah and Quds that happened in the night. ‘Mi’raj’ doesn’t come under the words ‘Isra’ and ‘Lail’ (night). For, really the night is said to the shadow of earth. If the sun comes to one part of the earth, its opposite part will be darkened with its own shadow. But the shadow can be raised only a fixed extend. The earth can not prevent the rays of sun beyond that extant. Hence, the darkness so called night can not be seen out of this extent.
Prophet(PBH) continued the journey of Mi’raj in the day light of the sun not in the night. His exodus was amidst of stars and galaxies beyond the orbit of the sun light. That is why, the words ‘Isra’ (at night), and ‘Lail’ (very short time of the night) do not consist of the Mi’raj. If Allah had included Mi’raj in chapter ‘Isra’, we would have to say Allah had not any idea about the Astrology. Quran is not definitely artificial. If so, we could have expected such like lapses and flows. Especially, Allah says through the Quran in the seventh century in which science was not progressed well: Had it been from other then Allah, they would surely have found therein many contradistinctions ( Surat Al- Nnisa – 82 ).
They went on the journey. When they reached in the boundary of first heaven, Jibreel(A) requested to open the door. Someone asked from inside who are you? Jibreel (A) answered that I am Jibreel. Again he asked who is with you. Jibreel(A) answered again: Muhammad! Then he asked that Allah had sent any one to accompany with him? Answered: yes. Then the door was opened. Here the Prophet Adam (A) stands! Adam said: Oh my good son, welcome. He prayed for Prophet Muhammad (PBH). It is the explicit evidence of assistance from the late Prophets and great men.
Needless to say, first heaven was very wide and vast world. There can be seen thousands of departments and thousands of offices, millions of branches and officers. Many figures appeared in the left and right sides of the Prophet Adam (A). The fragrance is spreading through the door in the right side while the stench is spread from left side door. When Adam (A) looks right, he smiles and feels happy. But when he looks left, he cries and feels sad. While the Prophet Muhammad (PBH) sought the reason, Jibreel(A) answered that the figures in two sides are the symbols of his children. The door in the right side is the gate of heaven and in left side the gate of hell. Adam (A) smiles fore seeing the men of heaven and cries fore seeing the men of hell. Afterwards, they reached in second heaven and received warmly with high formalities. They were welcomed by Easa (A) and the Prophet Yahya(A). They both prayed for our Prophet(PBH) and Jibreel (A).
Oddly enough, it is wonder that the Late Yahya (A) and Esa who did not die, welcomed them together from second heaven. After all, another striking point is the same relationship in this world goes on in the hereafter world too. Millions of galaxies are existed in second heaven. Each and every star has a plethora of planets and satellites. How many officers they need to be audited their accounts?
There are a lot of elements which supply the gas to the orbs. Self lighting orbs need to be supplied hydrogen. We are utilizing the natural gas which Allah had stocked before. But Allah is supplying many things which have not been stocked like mist and rain. Briefly, a grocer and civil supplies corporation need a large size go-down. Like wise we should think about Allah’s go-downs, offices and officers existing in second heaven.
Then they both reached in third heaven and were welcomed with high formalities. Prophet Yusuf (A) invited them with a cordial welcome. What a beauty he is!!! Half of the whole beauty has been given him. All people in the world except the Prophet Muhammad (PBH) have got only in iota of the beauty. But the Prophet (PBH) has been given more beauty than that of the Yusuf (A). Imam Busiri (R) quotes: “The Prophet Muhammad (PBH) is alone in his own beauty. The all elements of beauty are mingled in the Prophet PBH).”
It was not a mere spiritual meet. If so, the importance of describing the beauty of Yusuf (A) might be lost. Beauty is to the body, not to the soul. Another spanking topic is that the noble persons who appear in different places after their death are perfectly keeping their physical beauty.
Why did not Prophet Yusuf (A) become gray head, though he has left behind hundreds of years? Why did not his face get cracked? Why didn’t his senility lose his beauty?
The bodies of ‘the members of Al-kahaf’ and their dresses are the answers to these questions. How many years they lived in cave? Allah tells: “And they stayed in their cave three hundred (Solar) years, adding nine years ( Surat; Al- Kahf 25).
Did their bones shrink with 309 years? Did their skin shrive? Did their cheeks wrinkle? Did their teeth wither? Did even a hair get grayed? Did the dresses get worn? Allah says: Like wise, we awakened them (from their long deep sleep) that they might question one another. A speaker from among them said: “How long have you stayed know?” They said: “We have stayed (perhaps) a day or part of a day”(Surat; Al- Kahf 25).
The modern science can keep our body without wearing or decaying for a short time and brings back the temperature of the body to the normal after the heart operations. At the time of heart operation, the temperature of patient’s body is decreased to the certain minus degree. Therefore, the cells in body have not to face wear and decay. This process is known as hypothermia. The cells need a small degree of vitamins.
The men of Al- Kahf lived for 309 years without any food. Yet the cells have not been ruined. Allah must have given skills for their motions. The sun, part of the nature, adjusted the balance to them. The holy Quran says: “And you might have seen the sun when it rose declining to the right from their cave. And you would have thought them awake, whereas they were asleep (Surat; Al-Kahf 17, 18).
In a nut shell, we could see that the age, eye lids, sun, dress and lovely dog survive the natural laws for 309 years without any instruments. Their physical body and dresses of 309 years remind us the ever youth of Prophet Yusuf (A)’s beauty. He prayed the goodness for Prophet Muhammad (PBH). Afterwards he journeyed to the next heaven.
He continued his journey accepting the reception from Prophet Idrees, Haroon, Moosa (A) in forth, fifth and sixth heavens respectively. They all welcomed him reciting ‘Marhaban Bil Akhi Ssalih’(welcome to our noble brother). They also don’t forget to pray for him. When the Muslims meet and disperse together, it should be on the basis of Islamic tradition. They should chant Salam each other at first itself. But the prayer should be done in meeting itself. Each and every Prophets, whom Muhammad (PBH) met with, had prayed for him. It is the tradition of Islam.
Biding farewell to the Moosa (A), our Messenger (PBH) reached in seventh heaven. His father Prophet Ibrahim(A), the most deserving personality, welcomed him warmly with the same word which the Prophet Adam(A) used: ‘Oh my son, welcome’. Ibrahim (A) prayed for him and gave a message to his people that : “My son! You should chant my Salam to your society. You should say them that the heaven is fertile ground, its water is pure and its cultivation is the supplication of ‘Subahanallah wa Alhamdulillah wa Lailaha Illallahu Allahu Akbar’. It means that they should recite this supplication from the earth intending that you are cultivating for the heaven. The cultivation in the heaven is not like that in the desert. Will the peasant, who cultivates in fertile field with enough irrigation, get loss? One who habituates this Dikr can expect the great profit.
Ibrahim (A), sitting in the seventh heaven, was leaning to the ‘Baithul Ma’moor’. What a wonder house it is! Seven thousand angels enter this house day by day. Those who entered once do not come back from there. Because, Allah has that much angles. This system may be to control their bustle.
The message given by Ibrahim (A) proves that the great men do not disconnect their relation with Dikr and Dikr Majlis. The Moosa’s prayer in tomb (grave) too asserts this. Baithul Ma’moor in the heaven is like the holy Ka’ba in the earth. Prophet Ibrahim (A) is sitting immediate beside of Baithul Ma’moor as if he is the owner and the head of the family. Welcoming all those come there.
Undoubtedly to say, if Prophet Ibrahim (A) can welcome the visitors of Baithul Ma’moor to which seven thousand angles enter daily. Why can’t he come to holy Kaaba once in a year to welcome the visitors, in the season of Hajj?
Yes, he will come surly. He meets and welcomes the pilgrims sitting beside the holy Ka’ba as he leaning on the Baithul Ma’moor. Prophet Muhammad (PBH) meets him from the topmost heaven during Mi’raj. Like wise an ordinary pilgrim meets him from holy Ka’ba during Hajj. As for the pilgrim, the Hajj is a mini Mi’raj.
