It is very cold, the snow is falling and Jameel and Zainaba are shivering as they are returning home from their visit to their grandma's home. "Grr! It's cold," says Jameel as he rubs his hands. Zainaba is glad, she is wearing a thick hijab; it keeps the cold wind from freezing her ears.
Jameel and Zainaba visit their grandma every Saturday and spend the whole day doing all kinds of stuff with her. Grandma always teaches them something new every time. It seems like grandma knows everything.
Today grandma taught them two names of Allah in the morning; Ar Rahman and Ar Rahim, while they were learning to bake delicious cookies. Jameel and Zainaba enjoyed themselves kneading and rolling the dough for food. As they were cutting the rolled dough into shapes; circles and squares; triangles and rectangles, they made up a song:
Ar-Rahman is one name of Allah.
Allah is Ar Rahman,
The Most Gracious is Allah.
Ar Rahim is another name of Allah.
Allah is Ar Rahim,
The Most Merciful is Allah.
Now we know two names of Allah.
How many names of Allah do you know?
After Duhr prayer they were washing up the dishes for lunch grandma taught them another name of Allah; Al Malik.
Al Malik is a name of Allah,
Allah is Al Malik,
Our Sovereign Lord is Allah.
How many names of Allah did Jameel and Zainaba learn altogether today?
Now as they were coming home they sang the song again to remember the names of Allah.
Al Malik is another name of Allah,
Allah is Al Malik,
Our Sovereign Lord is Allah.
How many names do we know?
Now we know
One, two and three names of Allah.
How many names of Allah do you know?
Now we know three from ninety nine names of Allah
Ya Allah ! All that is correct which comes from you, all the mistakes are from me, Ya Allah! Forgive me and protect me from the whisperings of the Satan. |
